Southwestern Public Health Confirms 11 New Cases of COVID-19 This Morning

The active case count in SWPH has dropped to 126 after the Health Unit confirmed 11 new cases this morning and 21 resolved cases.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 21 resolved cases.

The active case count for SWPH region is 126 and you can find the complete break down below;

Woodstock - 29

Tillsonburg - 28

Norwich Township - 6

East Zorra-Tavistock - 6

Ingersoll - 4

South-West Oxford - 3

Blandford-Blenheim - 2

Zorra Township - 1

St. Thomas - 27

Aylmer - 10

Central Elgin - 5

Dutton-Dunwich - 3

Bayham - 2

West Elgin - 1 

12 people are currently being treated for the virus at the hospital and 4 of those patients are in the ICU. This data only reflects SWPH patients and is not an indicator of our local hospital capacity. It is a reflection of how many people locally had a sever enough illness from COVID-19 to end up in the hospital or ICU. 

An Outbreak has been declared at the Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock with 3 residents and 5 staff members testing positive for COVID-19.
