Southwestern Public Health Confirms 12 New Cases of COVID-19 This Morning

The Health Unit also confirmed the 91st COVID-19 related death in the SWPH region. The deceased is a woman in her 70's from Oxford County. 

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 8 recoveries. 

The Health Unit also confirmed the 91st COVID-19 related death in the SWPH region. The deceased is a woman in her 70's from Oxford County. 

This brings our total number of ongoing cases to 87 and you can find the complete breakdown below:

Woodstock - 20

Ingersoll - 9

Tillsonburg - 7

Norwich Township - 6

South-West Oxford - 3

East Zorra-Tavistock - 3

Zorra - 2

Blandford Blenheim - 1 

Aylmer - 17

St. Thomas - 8

Bayham - 5

Central Elgin - 4

Malahide - 1

West Elgin - 1

Three people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital, including two people in the ICU. The outbreak at Elgin Manor in St. Thomas has been declared over. 

The Health Unit says 86.0 percent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 82.5 percent have been fully vaccinated.
