Southwestern Public Health Confirms 21 New Cases of COVID-19

Five people are currently in the hospital with the virus in the SWPH region, including two in the ICU.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - We have 21 new cases of COVID-19 within the Southwestern Public Health Region over the past two days and 10 recoveries. 

This brings our total number of ongoing cases to 43 and you can find the complete breakdown below:

Woodstock - 8

Blandford Blenheim - 3

Tillsonburg - 3 

Zorra - 3

East Zorra-Tavistock - 2 

Ingersoll - 2 

South-West Oxford - 1

Aylmer - 10

Bayham - 6

Dutton/Dunwich - 2

Central Elgin - 2

St. Thomas - 1

Five people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital and two of them are in the ICU.

The Health Unit says 85.7 percent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 80.4 percent have been fully vaccinated.
