Southwestern Public Health Confirms 28 New Cases of COVID-19

The Health Unit confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and 17 recoveries. This means we now have 75 active cases in the region.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and 17 recoveries. 

Southwestern Public Health will not be updating the dashboard over the weekend from here on out. So every Monday the totals will include numbers from the weekend. 

This means we now have 75 ongoing cases within the health unit and you can find the complete break down below;

Woodstock - 38

Ingersoll - 8

Tillsonburg - 4

East Zorra-Tavistock - 1

Norwich Township - 1 

Blandford-Blenheim - 1

Central Elgin - 10

St. Thomas - 9

Aylmer - 2

Bayham - 1 

Four people are currently being treated for the virus at the hospital with 2 in the ICU.

Only one active outbreak remains in effect at this time; the Arches Transitional Bed Program in Woodstock. It was first declared last Tuesday and only one staff member has tested positive since then. Southwestern Public Health has screened 41 people for a variant of concern, of those cases, 19 are still active.
