A joint meeting put on by the Oxford WSA and Huron Perth WSA is happening tomorrow.
OXFORD COUNTY - This week's meeting from Oxford Women for Support of Agriculture will have a special guest on hand.
It is a joint meeting with the Huron-Perth WSA, which will feature guest speaker Elaine Froese.
Oxford WSA President Gerda Schryver says Froese will offer valuable information to those in attendance.
"She (knows) a lot about mental health, I know she struggled with things and she will share that with us. She comes from a farm herself. (She) is a farmer so she can relate to how we sometimes feel, how busy it is and how stressful farming can be. So she will give us tools for how to deal with complicated topics on a farm."
Froese is a professional speaker, writer and coach from Manitoba and she helps farm families through issues surrounding succession, business and communication.
Schryver says Froese will speak on other topics, including succession planning on the farm.
Schryver says she hopes the public walks away more educated on farming and agriculture.
"I hope that they will start thinking about things and how they can change certain things in their operation."
Tickets are sold out for the event. The event is for and about women in farming and 180 people are expected to attend, which will include a lunch.
The event takes place at the Arden Park Hotel in Stratford at 10:00am.
