It looks like the region could get hit with significant snowfall over the weekend, however rain is also possible in Woodstock on Saturday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of Southwestern Ontario, including Oxford County.
Significant snowfall amounts are expected overnight Friday, right through to Saturday night. An approaching low pressure system will bring snowfall to Southwestern Ontario beginning overnight Friday which will spread eastward to the Golden Horseshoe on Saturday morning. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected. Some locations may transition over to periods of rain late Saturday. Strong winds up to 60 km/h may also create areas of local blowing snow.
The snow or rain will change to flurries overnight Saturday night. The current forecast for Woodstock is calling for both snow and rain on Saturday.
Visibilities will be reduced in areas of blowing snow, which can make travel hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
