OPP tracked two thieves driving a stolen vehicle on Hwy#401 travelling westbound near Putnam Road Sunday night. The thieves were eventually stopped by a spike belt west of the Colonel Talbot Road overpass.
THAMES CENTRE - OPP received a report of a stolen vehicle spotted on Hwy#401 travelling westbound near Putnam Road Sunday night.
Officers used a used a spike belt to stop the thieves west of the Colonel Talbot Road overpass.
The passenger, 19-year-old Nikoletta Bari of Scarborough was charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The driver, 24 year old Drekwon Pitawanakwat, of Toronto was later located with the help of the OPP Canine Unit and charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Driving while under suspension
- Failure to comply with recognizance
