A Beachville man was arrested after the Oxford OPP had to deploy a spike belt to try and stop two suspected stolen trucks speeding on Road 66 in Zorra Township.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Oxford OPP had to deploy a spike belt to stop a couple of suspected stolen vehicles on Road 66 in Zorra Township.
Police were called to the area on Monday night around 9 about two stolen trucks that appeared to be travelling together at a high rate of speed. The OPP used the spike belt in order to bring the vehicles to a stop.
The driver of the white pick-up truck stopped the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The driver of the red pick-up truck failed to stop.
OPP brought in the canine unit to track down the suspect who escaped on foot and found him in a nearby bush.
As a result, 37-year-old Christopher Buskey of Beachville, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Dangerous Operation
- Flight From Police
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
