A scare for police and the public in a north Woodstock neighbourhood today. Police were called to an apartment building on Durham Cres. this morning on a report of a resident possibly being in possession of weapons and explosives. Woodstock Police investigated and called in the Waterloo Regional Tactical Team and Bomb Squad for assistance. A city bus was on stand-by to evacuate the area. However, the only weapons found in the apartment were air soft and paintball guns. But police say the potential hazard warranted their response, and that these imitation weapons often look like the real thing. One man was taken into custody, but has been released, because police say "no law was broken".
