The Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation have said that a majority of public high school teachers may not return to extracurricular activities even though they're encouraging them to do so. The Thames Valley District School Board is no different. The Board's Superintendent Laura Elliott is not aware that any activities have started up again. "It might be a little bit too soon at this point in time. But we hope to have discussions with our athletic directors over the next few weeks just to see where things stand with our coaches." But Elloitt hopes they can offer a spring season with athletics. "Certainly good for our students, and I know our teachers have missed those opportunities, and are eager to get back at it." Discussions will continue between the OSSTF and the government over the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, negotiations over extracurricular activities with the Elementary Teachers? Federation of Ontario are expected to resume today.
