Nolan will be taking part in the Stay Up All Night fundraiser for the London Children's Hospital this Saturday, in memory of his cousin and close friend Hunter Weston.
WOODSTOCK - A 7 year old from Woodstock is taking part in the Stay Up All Night fundraiser for London's Children Hospital.
Nolan is doing the fundraiser in memory of his cousin and close friend Hunter Weston. Hunter passed away after losing his battle with cancer on May 26, 2021.
Nolan's mother and Hunter's aunt Tarnya Petch explains why they wanted to do this fundraiser.
"We were looking for something that would help encourage Nolan to talk through his feelings with the loss of Hunter. Unfortunately COVID has put a hold on in person support groups for grieving children. Being a Miracle Mission Agent for London's Children's Hospital, we get emails about events and fundraisers that they have going on. Nolan wanted to participate in the Stand By Me: Stay Up All Night fundraiser in memory of Hunter. I reached out to my sister and Jay and they loved the idea of funds being raised for the place that gave them and Hunter so much support during his fight."
Petch says they will be playing video games, watching movies and enjoying some of Hunter's favourite snacks while trying to stay up all night.
"The event is virtual so we will be participating from our living room on June 26th from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. They have set up fun activities for the kids to join in. We have salsa lessons, a dance party, science experiments, crafts etc. We are also stocking up on some of Hunter's favorite treats. It's going to be a family affair. Nolan is collecting pledges to encourage him to stay up all night, all monies raised go to Children's Health Foundation. He currently has a goal of $1000 but would love to collect as much money as possible."
Nolan would love to raise as much money as possible for the place that gave Hunter so much love and support during his fight.
