Police say the two teenagers confronted two people near the Avon River overnight Saturday, where one of them pressed a gun against the chest of one person and demanded money. They remain in custody facing multiple charges.
UPDATE - The OPP underwater search and recovery unit spent some time in the Avon River on Monday.
They were searching for a black handgun that was used in a robbery on Saturday. Officers from the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit conducted a search of the area where it was believed that the firearm
was thrown. The search started at approximately 9:00 a.m. and was completed just before 4:30 p.m. The search was unsuccessful and the firearm was not able to be
recovered.
The two accused youth males attended court for a bail hearing on August 26, 2019.
Both males were held in custody and are scheduled to attend next on August 30, 2019 for another bail hearing.
STRATFORD - One Stratford teenager is among two people in custody after police say one of them pulled a gun on two people near the Avon River.
CTV London reports the incident happened overnight on Saturday when a 15 year-old boy from Stratford and 17 year-old boy of Toronto confronted them and demanded money.
Police say one of the teenagers pulled the gun from his front waistband.
Police add the gun was pressed against the chest of one person, demanding they empty their pockets, before the two teenagers spit on both of them. They also stole a cell phone and a wallet.
Officers were called to the scene and able to find the two suspects.
They remain in custody facing multiple charges.
