WOODSTOCK - K-9 Striker is credited with helping to take an impaired driver off the road.
Officer Striker located a male suspect hiding in the shed of a nearby residence after fleeing from police on Tuesday evening. Police first spotted the male driving a red Ford pick up truck on Clarke St. when officers believed the driver was intoxicated. The suspect failed to stop when police activated their emergency lights.
The truck turned into into The Beer Store parking lot where it proceeded to accelerate. It came to a stop after the driver jumped the curb and entered the drive through in the wrong direction.
The driver fled from the vehicle on foot, when Uniform patrol, assisted by members from the Intelligence and Drug and Criminal Investigation units, contained the area until K9 Striker was on scene.
