---
OXFORD - We're in the middle of a heat wave in Oxford County, but there is an end in sight.
Environment Canada says we should get a break from the heat sometime tomorrow night.
In the meantime we can expect daytime highs between 30 and 34 over the next couple of days, but it will feel like the high 30s to low 40s with the humidity. We'll also have overnight lows in the low 20s.
You should drink lots of water to stay hydrated and stay in a cool place whenever you can. If you don't have access to air conditioning, Southwestern Public Health says there are cooling centres located in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
Signs of heat exhaustion include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue. If you start to experience these symptoms, you should stop whatever you're doing and start drinking water. You should call 911 if you start to experience the symptoms of heat stroke, which include dizziness, nausea, confusion, red and hot skin, and change in consciousness.
According to Southwestern Pubic Health, older adults, infants and young children, and outdoor workers for the most vulnerable to the heat. The same goes for those experiencing homeless that do not have shelter or access to proper food or clothing.
