OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health Unit confirmed another 31 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 25 resolved cases.

SWPH region currently has 167 active cases of COVID-19. New restrictions are expected to be announced later this week. The restrictions will most likely be centred around capacity limits.

Thirteen people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital, including four people in the ICU.
The Health Unit says 87 percent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 84.1 percent have been fully vaccinated.
An outbreak has been declared at the Aylmer Retirement residence where 8 residents and 1 staff member have tested positive.
