SWPH Confirms 69 New Cases of COVID-19 Over the Weekend

Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock is set to address the media on Tuesday morning and it is expected she will announce new restrictions for our region.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health Unit confirmed 69 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and 24 resolved cases. 

Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock is set to address the media on Tuesday morning and it is expected she will announce new restrictions for our region, centred around capacity limits.

Blandford-Blenheim - 6

Zorra - 6

East-Zorra Tavistock - 5

South-West Oxford - 3

Central Elgin - 2

Malahide - 2

West Elgin - 1 

Fifteen people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital, including four people in the ICU. 

The Health Unit says 84.9 percent of residents 12+ have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 82.6 percent have been fully vaccinated.
