Southwestern Public Health confirmed 239 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and two additional COVID-19 deaths.
The deceased include a man in his 80's from Oxford County and a man in his 60's from Elgin. Neither death is associated with the active outbreaks at local long term care homes.
The Health Unit can confirm 803 active cases in the community right now, however with limited access to testing, the actual number of active cases is much higher.
Three out of the four local hospitals are currently in outbreak right now. They are the hospital in St. Thomas, Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
A total of 51 people are in the hospital with COVID-19 locally, including 10 people in the ICU.
18 out of 34 local long term care homes are in outbreak. 7 residents have died during the LTC home outbreaks that started late last year.
