SWPH Issues Opioid Advisory for Oxford

Southwestern Public Health says there is an increased demand for naloxone kits after several non-fatal overdoses in Oxford County.

SWPH - Southwestern Public Health has received reports of several non-fatal overdoses in Oxford County lately.

The Woodstock Police Service has responded to 10 opioid-related overdoses since February 13th and officers have had to issue up to 8 doses of naloxone to treat them.

The local health unit issued a statement on its social media pages yesterday, saying there is an increased demand for naloxone kits.

It also says the toxic fentanyl could come in several colours including blue or beige.
