TAVISTOCK - The Tavistock Braves' post-season came to an end earlier this month, but there were a lot of positives to take from it.
Head coach Dan Kalbfleisch says it was a great learning experience for a young team.
"We are looking at it as a learning experience, we had a number of new players on the roster this season and obviously getting that experience, playing a number of playoff rounds is going to be valuable moving forward. We are in a position that we could have as many as 18 players returning next season and I think that is a good foundation for us to build off of."
The Braves finished in first during the regular season. Kalbleisch says they are proud of the guys after a great season.
"I think we are going to have a good nucleus coming back and I think anytime you can have that in Junior hockey, it bodes well in terms of trying to have more success in the future."
The Braves lost to the Wellesley Applejacks 4 games to 1 in the final round of Doherty Division championship. Kalbleisch says the fan support has been amazing during their playoff run.
"I would like to say thanks to our fans and supporters, we really saw the support coming out in the playoffs and later in the season and it is always fun to play in front of a great crowd."
