A major fundraising campaign is underway in Tavistock. The community is trying to raise 600-thousand dollars to help pay for a 1-million dollar renovation to the Queen's Park. The bulk of the project surrounds refurbishing the pavilion, to turn it into a multi-use facility. A parking lot, storage facility and the start of a trail system are also a part of the project. Fundraising Committee member Jane Bender says they are hoping that grant applications for 180-thousand dollar will come through, along with help from the town's people. Construction is expected to begin in September, immediately following the Tavistock Fall Fair. The fundraising plan is a donor recognition program. For more information click here.
