The Canadian Press has learned younger high school teachers will get a better payout than their older colleagues for banked sick days, under a new tentative deal with the province. Under the new deal, teachers with less than 10 years on the job will get 25 cents on every dollar for sick days they bank. That's compared to 10 cents on the dollar more senior teachers will get for their unused sick days. P-C critics say that's going to cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars more but the government says the money will come from savings elsewhere in the contract.
