BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant is pleased to announce its new Fire Chief, Darren Watson!
Darryl Lee, Interim Chief Administrative Officer is thrilled to welcome Watson as the new fire chief.
"We are grateful for Chief Watson’s leadership and continued commitment to ensuring that the County has a highly skilled, professional, and trained Fire Service team, in place and ready to respond."
Watson was previously a volunteer firefighter in Blandford-Blenheim as a Trainer Facilitator and Fire Prevention Officer.
In 2010 he joined the Brant County Service continuing as a volunteer which eventually led to being promoted to Captain. He was further promoted to Brant's Deputy Fire Chief in 2019.
During his tenure, he adopted the Fire Master Plan, saw the construction of three new Fire Stations in Cainsville, Onondaga, and Scotland, and successfully acquired a new Training Tower.
Chief Watson is looking forward to continuing support to his team and the community.
"My commitment to the community is to ensure the firefighters are well-trained and ready to respond to a variety of fire, medical, and rescue emergencies while ensuring their health and safety is effectively addressed."
