Woodstock continues to collect donations for the people of Ukraine, Ingersoll has put out a statement and the Rotary Clock tower in Tillsonburg is now illuminating blue and yellow.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg has changed the lighting at the Rotary Clock Tower to show their support for Ukraine.
Special lighting has been installed to luminate blue and yellow. The Town strongly condemns the unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and stands with the people of Ukraine.
The Ukranian flag is also now flying at the South Broadway parkette.
The Town of Ingersoll has also put out a statement in solidarity with Ukraine.
The City of Woodstock meanwhile hosted a special flag raising ceremony yesterday as well.
The City of Woodstock has organized a campaign to accept donations for humanitarian aid packages for Ukraine. All packages will be delivered into Lviv and dispersed to relevant Ukrainian relief organizations.
They really need the following items in Ukraine:
- Non-perishable food – BIG DEMAND
- Clothes and footwear for men/women/children
- Thermal underwear
- Hygiene products (women’s products, diapers etc.)
- Blankets
- Bedding
- Table wear (disposable)
- First aid and first aid kits
- Tents, mattresses, sleeping bags
- Standalone lamps
- Candles
- Containers for liquids (canisters for water, fuel, lubricants with capacity of 10-20 litres)
You can drop off donations to Reeves Community Complex, Southside Aquatic Centre, Cowan Sportsplex and the Woodstock Museum until 5:00 pm on Saturday.
