INGERSOLL - The 22nd Annual Ingersoll Community Cruise Car Show is back!
This takes place Sunday, September 8th for the 4th straight year at Verspeeten Cartage.
It will Support the Power of Hope and representative, Karen Geerts, talks about the partnerships they have with other organizations and what goes into a package to help those in need. "We work out of one database the Children's Aid, The Christmas Store, and myself. Our packages are pajamas, teddy bears, socks, underwear, hats, mitts, a blanket, and sometimes a small toy if we have them. This goes up to the age of 18."
Volunteer Ron Archer (Santa Ron) says if you bring a new article of clothing you will receive a ticket for the 50/50 draw.
Geerts went on to share how a woman from Wellington County had the vision to create the Power of Hope "It started out with a woman taking stuff down to Hurricane Katrina and handing it to the people. If she could do that sort of thing for someone else she should be able to do that for own own community."
It will run from 10 am - 3 pm and the cost to get into the car show is by donation.
