Just over $307,000 was presented to local United Way, Thames Valley District School Board gave them with the money at their most recent board meeting.
OXFORD COUNTY - The United Way of Elgin Oxford Middlesex was presented with a cheque worth $307,258 from the Thames Valley District School Board.
TVDSB gave the local United Way the money at their most recent board meeting on Tuesday night.
Resource Development Coordinator for United Way Oxford, Jennifer Belleth,
"The generosity of students coming together with teachers and principles and just rallying together to support one another, its an amazing message."
She also adds what will be done with the money.
"That money is definitely provided for our local communities when those dollars are raised in Oxford the dollars stay in Oxford, and those are given to individuals who are living on limited income and those living with mental health and addiction issues and kids."
United Way Oxford will receive just over $67,000 of that money.
