At least 25 cast and crew members are involved in the production at Thistle Theatre.
EMBRO - The story of Embro's very own Bob Hayward is about to come to life on the Thistle Theatre stage.
Miss Supertest - The Bob Hayward Story will make its debut on Friday March 15th and it will have eight performances leading up to March 24th. Peter Johnson is one of the cast members and he tells us about the local legend.
"So Bob was just a chicken farmer who was very good as a mechanic, engineer, and driver. He turned into a legend because he was able to win the Harmsworth Trophy which is the world cup for unlimited engine speed boats."
At least 25 cast and crew members are involved in this production. Johnson says the script is also written by local playwright William Butt.
"He just looks for local heroes and what they did. If he can turn that into a play or production to help tell the story and keep people involved, that's what he does!"
Tickets cost $22 each and they can be purchased on the Thistle Theatre website.
Peter Johnson stopped by the Heart FM studio with his fellow castmate Diane Smith to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday March 5th. You can listen to the full interview below:
