The decorations are off and the needles swept up, but many Tillsonburg residence still have trees laying in their front yard. But they should be picked up soon. The town decided to reinstate its Christmas tree pick up after cancelling it a few months ago. Town Councillor Marty Klein says it didn't make sense. "When we had a vote in October to terminate it, I was against that vote; I wanted that service to continue. It's been provided in this community for 40 or 50 years, and when council voted to discontinue the service, I felt they voted because they assumed that there was going to be savings". But the only costs were fuel related. Klein says it's better to have one vehicle collecting the trees versus thousands driving to the transfer station.
