The volunteer-run Santa Claus Parade in Tillsonburg is joining forces with Rogers Hometown Hockey to host a big parade on Saturday November 20th.
TILLSONBURG - The Santa Claus Parade in Tillsonburg is teaming up with Rogers Hometown Hockey.
The parade is being organized by a group of volunteers this year and they were planning on hosting an informal parade in December.
One of the volunteers Cathy Lynn Doyle-Ryan says the Town reached out and they have now partnered with the Rogers Hometown Hockey parade.
"You are going to have your Christmas stuff going on and the Hometown Hockey going on at the same time. Santa of course will be in attendance and he will show up at the very end of the parade."
Now that the volunteer group is teaming up with Rogers Hometown Hockey, they will have all the required permits to close down the roads. Doyle-Ryan says this means they can have more people in the parade.
"We want businesses, community members to decorate your cars, people can actually, if they want to walk now, they can walk, so if you want to decorate yourselves and walk together as a group, or if the schools want to get together and put some kids in."
The parade route details still need to be ironed out but the parade will start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 20th. If you're interested in joining the parade you can reach out to Doyle-Ryan on the Talk Tillsonburg Facebook page or contact Chris Kersten at 519-842-0618 or via email at chriskersten89@gmail.com.
