TILLSONBURG - Oxford County is getting lots of exposure thanks to a viral video put out by Telus.
The video, which already has over 750 thousand YouTube views was shot in part at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport at the start of June and also features the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association (CHAA) which was started by Oxford County residents.
Guelph Realtor Ramona Ostrander is featured in the commercial and checks off items on her bucket list. Ostrander had been coming to Tillsonburg for years and volunteered with the Canadian Harvard Association (which was started by Oxford County residents) but had never flown in a plane.
"It was the first time formation flying. They had also sent my daughter up in the second plane. We flew in formation and did the classic smoke on, which, if you're in the aviation world, is the big moment when the smoke starts to trail out of the plane."
She said the experience reaffirmed the love she already had for Tillsonburg.
"A farmer had contributed part of his land for the flower planting of the 'Thank You Ramona' message and it was area residents that played a role in actually planting those flowers. It kind of deepened my relationship with Tillsonburg."
She said she really appreciated how Telus supported the organizations and locations that meant the most to her.
"They certainly made sure that Tillsonburg and CHAA were included in my day and of course CHAA being a volunteer organization and a charitable organization, they certainly had a hand in financially supporting their efforts."
