Nick Nurse is no longer the head coach of the Toronto Raptors.
TORONTO - The Toronto Raptors will have to find a new bench boss.
Nick Nurse has been fired as the head coach of the NBA team.
He has been part of the Raptors organization since 2013. He started out as an assistant coach before he got promoted to the head coach position in June 2018. Nurse went on to lead the team to their first championship in 2019 and he was named the NBA's coach of the year for the 2019-2020 season.
The Raptors failed to make it to the playoffs this year after they finished the regular season in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. Their last game was on April 12th and they suffered a 109-105 loss to the Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena.
There is no word as to who will fill the head coach position for the time being.
