Fat Bike enthusiasts and those new to the sport can enjoy a day out at Wildwoods Conservation for a Poker Run
Fat Bike enthusiasts are practicing their poker faces as they get ready for the Totally Wild Fat Bike Poker Run.
Superintendent of Wildwood Conservation Paul Switzer says participants will be doing laps, collecting cards, and trying to get the best poker hand possible.
"It's ride around one of our short loops - the red trail - and essentially those that register in advance or on the day of get a card before they do a lap, and every lap that they do they get another card. There is no maximum or minimum number of laps they can do - the goal is three laps."
The entrance fee is $20 per person with the money going back to support trail improvements. There will be prizes up for grabs.
For those who are interested in the emerging sport, but haven't had a chance to try it out there will also be a free demo track available.
Switzer knows the February weather can be very changeable, but they are hoping for sunshine on Sunday, February 19th.
"Hopefully the weather cooperates - it's supposed to be warm! Chances are we'll lose our snow that we do have here, but it is rain or shine and the bikes work in all different types of weather, whether it's dry, muddy, or snowy, so either way it'll be a fun day."
It's happening from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
