Only hybrid models of the compact SUV will be produced moving foward.
WOODSTOCK/CAMBRIDGE - Say goodbye to the gas only model of the Toyota RAV4
The automaker says the next generation of the compact SUV will only be produced in a hybrid model.
The RAV4 is produced at the Toyota plants in Woodstock and Cambridge, which employ over 8,000 people combined. Officials say this change will have no impact on staffing.
Eighty-four percent of the RAV4s produced in Ontario are shipped south of the border and officials are hoping there will be a new trade deal for Canada, the US and Mexico before the end of the year.
