WOODSTOCK - The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority received a donation from Toyota Woodstock earlier today.
The Upper Thames Conservation Authority was pleased to accept $60,000 from Toyota Woodstock.
They were made the announcement during a presentation at Pittock Conservation Area this morning.
The money will go towards community partnership projects, in addition to environmental projects to expand opportunities for students to participate in the Friendly City.
The Stream of Dreams, Watershed Report Cards are among the programs, along with a continued focus in flooding in the area.
Community Partnership Specialist with UTRCA, Brad Hertner says they've built a great relationship.
"Creating a livable city and investing in the environment and creating beautiful natural places, really overlap. They contacted us that they really value the work we are doing."
Communications Specialist with Woodstock Toyota, Lin Hall says both companies share the same vision.
"So we are looking at increasing our reach within the community as far as educational awareness. The donation we are making to the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is going to expand the reach to thousands of residents."
The money will also be put towards a new escape room in Pittock Park, furthering the Burgess Park Naturalization Project and helping members complete the Cedar Creek Watershed Naturalization Project.
