Woodstock Firefighters had to rescue a person trapped in an elevator at the Church of the Epiphany today.
Members of the B shift were called to the church on Dundas this morning.
Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says crews were able to respond pretty quickly.
"Roughly 20 minutes by the time we got the call and arrived on scene and got the doors open for them. The individual was calm cool and collected and understood there was a job that needed to be done and waited patiently for us."
Woods says this kind of thing happens more often than you would think.
"It is common and we train to get these individuals out of the elevator. It is something we do every know and then and something we can do pretty quickly."
