Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District raised over $8,400 at their annual Trivia Night this year, making it the most successful one yet.
WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock were able to raise $8,400 this year at their annual trivia night.
28 teams competed at the event on Friday night. Fundraising and Marketing Assistant Shaylyn Jackson says it was a tight battle this year.
"And we ended up having a three way tie, so we had to do a sudden death round which was a lot of fun. Our reigning champs were in that three way tie, however they ended up losing to another returning team."
Smarty Pants ended winning the trophy and bragging rights beating Lucille and the Sutton Group in the tiebreaker. The event has really grown over the years. Jackson says it has turned into a very popular night in the Friendly City and on of their best fundraiser's.
"I think it's partly word of mouth, but people just have a lot of fun at the event and it has become the go to trivia night for the area."
Jackson says this was their most successful trivia night to date.
"All of the money raised at the event will go towards supporting and growing the mentoring programs for children and youth that we offer. We offer 11 different programs for youth in the area."
