Trudeau Says Canada Will Have Enough Vaccine Supply For Fourth Doses

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada has enough COVID-19 vaccines to provide a fourth shot to all eligible Canadians if it's deemed necessary.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now talking about fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Trudeau spoke with the country's premiers yesterday, noting that the federal government has secured enough vaccines for all eligible Canadians to not only get a booster, but also get a fourth shot if that becomes necessary.

In a statement released following the virtual meeting, the Prime Minister's Office says Trudeau assured the other leaders that Ottawa also remains committed to support programs such as the federal wage subsidy, in order to help residents and businesses survive the current wave of restrictions.

The statement also says Trudeau reiterated a promise to distribute  140 million rapid tests in January, though no further details about the plan have been released.
