TVDSB Reports 9 New Cases Over Weekend and Temporarily Closes Westmount PS

The TVDSB reported nine new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend. The school board has also decided to temporarily close Westmount PS in London due to potential Omicron variant exposure.

TVDSB - The Thames Valley District School Board reported nine new confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 over the weekend.

Two of those cases are in Oxford County, one is at IDCI and the other is at Thamesford Public School. You can find a complete list of latest COVID-19 cases within the TVDSB below.

- Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute
- Thamesford Public School
- Mitchell Hepburn Public School (St. Thomas) - two cases
- Eagle Heights Public School (London) - two cases
- Byron Northview Public School (London)
- Clara Brenton Public School (London)
- Westmount Public School (London)

The school board has already notified all of the affected parents, guardians and staff members. This means if you have not received a letter from Thames Valley, your child is not considered to be at risk. You can find a complete list of all of the active COVID-19 cases within the TVDSB online here.

The school board has also decided to temporarily close Westmount Public School in London. Officials say there are multiple close contacts to a confirmed case of COVID-19 that could be linked to the Omicron variant, so staff and students will switch to online learning starting today. They're scheduled to be back in the classroom January 3rd 2022, after the winter break.

The TVDSB also decided to temporarily close Princess Elizabeth Public School in London last week due to potential Omicron variant exposure.
