Two Oxford County towns are on a list provided to the province regarding new school builds.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Thames Valley District School Board have submitted 5 construction projects.
The projects were submitted to the Ministry of Education for a chance to become part of the province's Capital Priorities Program. Of the 5, two are located in Oxford County, which includes a new elementary school with a child care centre in Thamesford, which would be a co-build project with the Township of Zorra, and the other is a new elementary school with a child care centre in Ingersoll. The two Oxford County projects ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively. These two projects were given to the province and Ministry of Education in October 2023 as part of last year’s call for capital priority projects.
Announcements for the next round of funding from the Capital Priorities Program are expected to occur in Spring 2025.
