OXFORD - The awards for Best in Show and People’s Choice from the Woodstock Art Gallery’s annual juried exhibition have been announced.
The exhibition is named Visual Elements 64, and it features a diverse range of artwork from 35 local artists. Even though the awards were presented this past weekend, Visual Elements 64 is on view until Saturday, September 24.
The award for Best in Show was selected by a jury that consisted of Peter Flannery, Ruth Hartley and John Hartman. Burgessville artist Jamie Dickson was the winner for his painting, Turkey Point Beach.
The People’s Choice award was selected through an online poll, which garnered nearly 500 votes, and went to Ingersoll artist Linda Yeoman for her mixed media collage called Sakura.
Dickson's work was a representation of the actual Turkey Point Beach, while Yeoman says Sakura was inspired by her trip to Japan.
