Two Witnesses Take The Stand In Rafferty Trial

Two witnesses took to the stand this morning in the Michael Rafferty murder trial. Jennifer Griffin-Murrell, Tori's grade three teacher at Oliver Stephens Public School talked about the eight year-old girl's personality and recalled the minutes leading up to time that Tori was allegedly abducted. Heart FM's Blair Wilson said the teacher was very emotional, "Griffin-Murrell broke down in tears after explaining to the jury a typical day in the classroom. Griffin-Murrell talked about the exits and entrance ways of Tori's school, Oliver Stephens Public School. And then became very emotional when she talked about the personality of Tori. Also, Griffin-Murrell talked about how Tori jumped into a puddle, kidding around with the other kids and asked to go back to retrieve her butterfly earrings". Griffin-Murrell talked about how Tori loved "Hannah Montana", "High School Musical" and animals. A second witness was called to the stand, OPP Detective Constable Robin Brocanier. Brocanier was responsible for reviewing the video evidence in the case. He said there was up to 32 videos that he has studied. Justice Thomas Heeney started off the second day of the trial by explaining the reasons for a delay during Monday's proceedings. Heeney says a message was posted on Facebook by someone claiming they were a relative of one of the jury members. The Facebook user stated this supposed juror member had made disparaging comments about Rafferty. It was discovered that the person who posted the comment was related to a person who was not selected for the jury. The case is continuing this afternoon in a London courtroom.
