The 5 D's of Dodgeball were honoured over the weekend in Woodstock as the Innerkip Thunder won the Golden Wrench.
WOODSTOCK - They dodged, dipped, ducked, dived and dodged at the 3rd annual U-dodge tournament for United Way.
This years event had 12 teams compete to help raise over $17,000 for the United Way of Oxford over the weekend at Cowan Park. Resource Development Coordinator Rachel Robinson tells Heart FM what the money will be used for.
"So we have three pillars in which we invest, so it is moving people in Oxford from poverty to possibility, building strong communities which focuses on mental health and addiction, as well as ensuring kids have the resources to be all that they can be. We fund programs under each one of those pillars across the county that are identified needs of people in the county. We have community conversations where we go out and talk to people, understand what their barriers are and then we invest accordingly."
The Innerkip Thunder took home the Wrench trophy this year after coming up just short in the previous two tournaments.
