OTTAWA/KYIV - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the Canadian Parliament today.
His virtual address is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Eastern Time. Zelenskyy has been holding virtual visits with allied governments to ask for international aid as his country battles the invading Russian forces.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invited Zelenskyy to speak with Canadian lawmakers during his visit to Europe last week. Trudeau also announced new sanctions against Russian government officials and revealed that his government will be sending $50-million worth of specialized equipment to Ukraine.
In addition to all of this, the Canadian government has also pledged $145-million in humanitarian assistance and it has updated it's immigration measures for people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
