WOODSTOCK - Oxford County's federal candidates are getting a chance to go head to head in a debate.
Unifor Local 636 will be hosting the event on Wednesday, April 16th, and members of the public can submit their questions before 6:00 p.m. on April 11th by emailing unifor636mel@gmail.com
President Brent Thompson is aware of three candidates participating so far.
"So far we have the Liberal party (David Hilderley), the NDP (Matthew Chambers), and the CHP (Jacob Watson) that have confirmed that they will be here and I'm going to extend a quick invite to all the other candidates. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can have a really good debate here."
Thompson has an idea on some topics that will be discussed.
"We have housing issues we have affordability issues, but lets be real, this election is all about tariffs and what's going on with our friends to the south, right, so tariffs are going to be a huge issue because it's already starting to impact the working class here in Ontario so I'm sure tariffs are going to be the topic of discussion."
Due to construction, members of the public will not be able to attend the debate in person. It will air on Rogers TV, but the dates have yet to be announced.
Oxford County residents will head to the polls on April 28th.
