Organization donates $1000 to local fire programs
WOODSTOCK - Union Gas is once again donating money to the Woodstock Fire Department.
Officials were on hand this morning to donate $1000 to our community.
Chief Scott Tegler says the money will go toward their fire extinguisher training program.
"We're going to apply it to a specific group, groups that would not normally be able to achieve this training and that's the seniors groups in Woodstock."
Tegler says Union Gas continues to be a big supporter of Woodstock Fire.
"They gave us $1000 last year, the same time, towards our Prevention and Awareness programs. Again this year obviously and then earlier in the year Union Gas Social Group locally and the branch actually gave us $1200 for our Carbon Monoxide program so that's quite a bit from a small organization in our community."
"Money is tight now a days and to get out there and offer programs.... Our community is growing. You know we look at our specific risk groups, our dollars are tighter to come by so these type of things that we get from the community help us to deliver these programs and keep our city safe."
