Caressant Care in Woodstock has 55 active cases amongst staff and residents, while peopleCare in Tavistock is down to 2 active cases, both staff members.
WOODSTOCK - Southwestern Public Health has provided an update on the outbreaks at Caressant Care Retirement Home in Woodstock and peopleCare in Tavistock.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says we still have 55 active cases at Caressant Care.
"There are 47 residents that are still active cases, we had 51 cases in total, so 2 have recovered and 2 have passed away, that is for the residents. For the staff we still have 8 active cases and 10 have recovered."
Dr. Lock says peopleCare is down to just 2 active cases.
"Out of the 47 resident cases, 37 have recovered and 10 were fatal, so there are no more active cases among residents. For the staff, there are still 2 active cases but the other 36 have recovered."
peopleCare is still considered an active outbreak because of the 2 staff cases. Earlier this week, we reported that Maple Manor in Tillsonburg is COVID-19 free with 0 active cases remaining amongst staff and residents.
