Over zoom, VASoc volunteers were each given a personal fire extinguisher and were shown to properly operate and store them by the WFD.
WOODSTOCK - Victim Assistance Services of Oxford County and the Woodstock Fire Department have teamed up for Volunteer week.
The VASoc is providing their volunteers with free fire extinguishers. The organization offers a variety of crisis intervention services to persons affected by crime or tragedy.
The theme of Volunteer Appreciation week this year is “The Value of One, The Power of Many."
This theme encouraged a partnership between the Woodstock Fire Department and VASoc and inspired the tagline “Volunteers are ComPASSionate."
The event on Thursday featured members of VASoc and the Woodstock Fire Department, along with local MPP Ernie Hardeman.
Over zoom, VASoc volunteers were each given a personal fire extinguisher and were shown to properly operate and store them.
