WOODSTOCK - Indwell is hosting a virtual gala on Friday night and everyone is invited.
The Hope@Home gala will give you a chance to hear from tenants and see inside some of the Indwell homes in Simcoe, Hamilton, London and of course Woodstock. They will be able to share updates on new construction projects as well.
A combination of live-streamed hosting by Indwell’s Executive Director and Board Chair, along with videos from each of their programs across Ontario, will make for a lively event. Shout-outs from local leaders, celebrities, and politicians will round out the evening.
While more than 1,000 people have already registered for this free event, with no capacity limit the organization expects that number could double by week’s end. Early registrants received an event package that includes drink and dessert recipes from Indwell staff and volunteers, a cling with the Indwell logo to attach to their glass, and a wildflower coaster that can be planted in the garden after the event.
Community Engagement Manager Teresa Howe talks about some of the projects Indwell is part of in Woodstock.
"We have been involved in the Blossom Park program since 2004 and we started out with a group home there, quickly added on two wings of independent town house buildings. Then a few years ago, we opened Harvey Woods Loft and then added on a second phase to that fairly quickly, so we have 80 permanent affordable apartments there with housing support staff on site. Last year we completely rebuilt the Blossom Park group home and so there is now 34 independent apartments there with enhanced supports for the tenants."
She adds you will be able to see inside these projects on Friday night with a virtual tour and hear from some of the tenants.
With a goal of raising $50,000 over the 90-minute event, Hope@Home will support Indwell’s current programs as well as growth into new communities. Indwell serves more than 600 tenants with an additional 400 units in development in six Ontario cities.
You can register ahead of time online at https://indwell.ca/events-calendar/hopehome-virtual-gala/
Registration will be open until Friday morning; if you miss your chance to register, you can still join us by visiting our website at indwell.ca.
