Walk So Kids Can Talk will take place at College Ave Secondary School this Sunday.
WOODSTOCK - The Walk So Kids Can Talk is just around the corner.
The fundraiser for Kids Help Phone will take place on Sunday May 6th at College Avenue Secondary School.
Registration starts at 9am and the walk itself will kick off at 10am. Everything should wrap up at 12pm.
Manager of Community Fundraising, Sarah Lagrove says it's more than just a walk.
"There's going to be face painting, lots of giveaways, we are going to have lunch provided by Boston Pizza, we're going to walk around the track and we're really going to try and make sure that we're always open for all of those kids who need to reach out to Kids Help Phone at any day or time."
Lagrove says they have a big fundraising goal in mind.
"The goal for across the country for the Walk So Kids Can Talk presented by BMO is over about $3.5 million. It's a very big lofty goal, but it's defiantly needed to make sure our doors are always open for every kid in every moment of crisis or need. All of the funds raised from the Walk So Kids Can Talk presented by BMO go directly towards our service. Kids Help Phone is a charity, we don't receive any ongoing guaranteed government support so all of those dollars are what's needed to help us really be a trusted all to youth all across the country."
Participants can sign up online here; where you can collect and receive donations. When you arrive at the event make your way up to the registration table to hand in any paper work or pledge forms you may have.
