Norwich residents will select their next Ward 2 Councillor on Monday September 18th.
NORWICH - We now know when the Ward 2 byelection will be taking place in Norwich Township.
Residents will select the next councillor for the village of Norwich on Monday September 18th, with advanced polls on Saturday September 9th. The polls will be located at the Norwich Community Centre and they will be counted with tabulators.
The nomination period officially began last Wednesday and Nomination Day is scheduled for Friday August 4th.
All of the dates were finalized during last week's Township Council meeting.
Alisha Stubbs won the Ward 2 council seat last fall with a total of 759 votes. She was followed by William Van Lagen with 392 votes and Michael Legge with 135 votes.
Stubbs announced her resignation on May 23rd, after council passed a flag policy bylaw that states only government flags can be flown on Township property. The remaining councillors decided to hold a byelection to fill the Ward 2 council seat during the next meeting on June 6th.
