A free presentation offered to residents of South West Oxford Township.
MOUNT ELGIN - The Township of South West Oxford is inviting the public to check out their Will Climate Change You? Information session.
It's all happening Thursday night at the Mount Elgin Community Centre from 7 to 9 p.m. CAO for the Township Mary Ellen Greb says the education event is being done by the South West Oxford Innovation Committee.
"We are focusing on the reduction of green house gasses in our environment, starting off with a broader view, more of a worldwide concept by Patrick Darby, followed by some local solutions with Murray Logan from Green Rural Energy."
Greb says they will be presenting a lot of great information at the session.
"The Committee is interested in providing people with ideas on how they can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, it's not as difficult as some people may think. Certainly we can make some minor changes in our day to day life that will have a positive impact on greenhouse gasses that we produce. The Township of South West Oxford through the committee has established a climate change reserve that is going to be used to educate the public and possibly fund other programs locally that will encourage people to do so."
The session will also include the recent report on Green House Gas reduction in South West Oxford including fuel usage savings and the six day garbage and recycling collection.
